Simple Man
She
calls me a simple man
Because
I drive a truck
Because
I did not finish school
Because
my job does not meet her standards
I do
not save lives or heal the sick
My
life to her is a simple life
Without
worry
All I
do is ride the roadways
Of
this great land
Through
the small towns
And
the big cities
Making
my deliveries so everyone will have
What
they need to make their
Lives
just a little more comfortable
They
pass me by when I need help
But
know I will stop to help them
I am a
simple man
My
needs are not many
My
wants are few
Just a
place to lay my head
And
something to eat when I hunger
That's
all a simple man needs
No one
sees the photographer within me
No one
hears the poetry within
All
they see is the truck driver I am
Because
I am a
Simple
Man
