Cindy Monroe's Glass Slippers by Sandie May Angel Like Cinderella, she slides her feet into the sandals of black Ten little toenails, painted melon red, she wiggles and giggles. Down the street she walks, waving her hair and shoulders, welcoming spring. Pinky cheeks, ruby lips, a breath of fresh air, swaying hips, rhythmic steps. Sprinkling woman scent off the hem of her floral-sweet summer dress. “Aaaaahhhhh! What pretty little toes on your dainty little feet!” Fondly, they all whisper. Suddenly feeling shy, she runs all the way home to her cinder, and decides that from now on she will only wear Cindy’s glass slippers. Copyright © Sandie Angel May 2, 2004

Pieces of Me by Sandie May Angel Pieces of me are scattered about on the floor. I looked and found one piece still in its perfect shape. I picked it up, looked closely at its two lifted corners. So perfect ...so beautiful, it was my own smile. I shall gather all pieces of me from this floor. I shall sew these pieces together to form something nice - a quilt, perhaps. Sandie May Angel was born in China, grew up in Hong Kong, and is now residing in Toronto, Canada with her family. She works full-time as an administrative assistant. In her spare time, she likes to read and write. She began her interest in writing towards the end of 1999, under the influence of her family, and one of her writer friends. One of her major influences has been the support from her parents. Also from her sister and her uncle, both of whom are published authors...and most of all...the support from her writer friends. During the past few years of Sandie May’s part-time writing career, her achievements include: Her short story "Road Rage" which has been published in a Science Fiction e-book titled "SciShift”. It has won a rating of the 10-star award. Her poem, "My Superfriend", has been published in an Anthology entitled – "Devotion of the Minds". Her science fiction short story, "Moon Walker", has been published in a monthly publishing eZine "writersHood.com" in October, 1999. In November 2001, Sandie published her first book and CD "Soul Dance - The Romantic Verse" which has gained world-wide recognition in the world of poetry among fellow poets. In 2002 her second book and CD - "Melodies of Love in Spoken Words" was published and has also gained world-wide recognition in the world of poetry among fellow poets. Sandie’s first children's story, "Best Friends", was published in 2003 and has received world-wide recognition among fellow writers. In May 2003, Sandie May joined The Toastmasters International; a club specialized in public speaking. She hopes to become a successful writer and a successful speaker.
